Ways and Means

Now that the holidays are over and the tree has been packed away for another year, we are back in the swing of things.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed being with family and friends.

We are looking forward to the Winter Regional Conference hosted by the Pensacola Junior College members.  This should be an excellent technology learning experience for us.  All members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend as you do not have to be a member of FAEOP to attend/participate in the regional workshops.  Carol Quinn and her committee are looking forward to having us in Pensacola.

All the committees have been busy especially these:
Pat Ellison is working on the bylaws and standing rules recommendations.
Chris Walsh is looking forward to a lot of items for our ways and means sale and auction to fill our coffers.  Come prepared to join in the auction fun.
Kathy Vreeland is seeking members for our association.
Selma Bidot has sent the applications for Educational Office Professional  and Administrator of the Year to all affiliates - Deadline for submission:             February 15.
Sue Nedza has sent the applications for the Adelaide “Patti” Kenyon Scholarship and Member Descendant Scholarship forms to all affiliates –             Deadline for submission: March 1.
Liz Stevenson, Nominations Chair, is putting together the proposed slate of officer candidates for the 2010-2011 year.  Please take the opportunity to serve our organization as a board member or committee chair.  It is a very rewarding and worthwhile experience.

The President’s Service Project this year is Clothes for Kids.  This is an organization which provides new and quality used clothing to low-income school-age children in Pinellas County, free of charge.  Please help by donating new or slightly used t-shirts for boys and girls or new underwear and/or socks in all sizes to our winter workshop.

The year is moving along quickly.  Please support our association – remember we are a vital part of our association and our districts.  Most of all, don’t forget to continue to be a “Dedicated Star for Education.”
